Blood Bound Bound Series Volume 1 K Carter 9781515158875 Books

I love it! Not my usual type of book. But it was definitely a page turner, and I couldn't put it down. Carter has a way of drawing the reader into the story to make you feel apart of it. I sat here crying for "my" cousin, brother, friend. Carter has an amazing talent for someone so young. It's refreshing to have someone show life how it truly is, instead of a fantasy. I have great faith that we will only see more and wonderful writings from her in the future. I can't wait for the next book!

Well written, engrossing story. Lots of plot twists. Excellent character development. Not my usual type of book, but I found myself totally involved.

The only reason for four stars is the lack of proof-reading. There were several times I had to stop and go over a sentence because it just didn't make any sense as written. Also their v.s. they're, see v.s. she, etc.

Clean it up and it's definitely a five star read.
Blood Bound by K. Carter was an intriguing book. Starting off, K. Carter wasted no time in getting the plot started with a death in the family. We start off by hating the older sister,Sam, who seems to have a chip in her shoulder.

Through wonderful storytelling, K. Carter creates a vivid world that we feel that we are a part of. The characters feel like real people we know, people we can relate to, identify with, and feel compassion for.

As the events in the story unfold, we learn why Sam is so angry and rude to her family. It is a great book that shows how families are not always perfect, everyone makes mistakes, but to hold onto that resentment will only make people bitter. We learn that there are other ways to cope with stress through Rian. Forgiveness and compassion is what he embraces, and that allows him to deal with all of the events in his life.

I recommend this book to others because it shows us how life does not always go according to plan...and death is something that can open our eyes to the reality of life. Death is a part of life, one that everyone must deal with.
Disclaimer I received a free copy of this book from StoryCartel in exchange for an honest review.

After his cousin's death, Rian Michaels moves back to his hometown, where he tries to comfort his aunt and his cousin's girlfriend, Emily. As the events unfold, we discover secrets and lies that are part of his family.

I really liked how the author depicted families. Real families are not perfect, they have secrets, there may be lies. People are not perfect, so families could not be perfect either. And it is really nice to read a story that seems "real", with characters we can relate to.

I think some characters were better developed than others, but it was interesting getting to know them all.

There are some grammar mistakes that bothered me a little. Sentences like “You’re parents aren’t going to..." (you're vs your, but also their vs they're, among other things) could be corrected after some proof-reading and editing.

Other than that, is a great read.

"I'm the one who's left standing here, trapped in your shadow."
6 stars!!!!!
AH!!!!! How could you do this to me, K. I'm already crying again just typing this. Wow, this book is... heavy. Emotionally heavy. I was inconsolable last night (and right now). This is the first I have read with a plot like this. I hear about some things in here happening but I have never read about them. Let me tell you, I am so glad this book was the first for me.
What would you do if a death in the family unravels secrets best left in the grave? Can something so utterly broken be mended?
I wouldn't know. All I know is that the characters in here dealt with it in the best way possible... considering. The sadness I experienced (am still experiencing) was a consistent heavy blanket over me. After the last few pages I was already mourning alongside these characters. They just felt so real. This book threw bombshell after bombshell at me and I couldn't dodge them. It has stripped me bare and exploited every tear I have to give.
I loved the main characters so much. They may be younger than me but oh do I look up to them. Rian, especially, is a guy to admire. Many guys would not come close to carrying the weight this guy had to carry on his shoulders, voluntarily. He made me so proud and I'm not even his mother.
And Ian. Oh, damn it Ian. He broke me... Even though the story takes place after he has passed away, he plays such an important role in this marvelous story, it wouldn't be half as perfect without him.
I'm not a religious person (obviously) but I must confess that this story would not have the impact it had on me had it not been incorporated. It was definitely a must for the delivery of this plot. Ugh, my heart is just so torn up about everything, I can't even think straight.
What made my experience with this even more surreal was that Pandora gave me the perfect playlist to listen to along with it. (I finished the book with "Peasants" by Houses. I am officially naming this as this book's theme song. A must hear for everybody that reads this incredible book.)
My only slight complaint is that it needed a heavy dose of editing. Surprisingly, I wasn't thrown off about it though.
There were many, many sorrowful and joyful moments. Either way, it was all overwhelming and raw. K. delivered a family drama and a romance with chaotic flourish. I am definitely keeping up with this author until my last breath.
Loved this book. Can't wait for the next one!
This was an amazing book and this young author will be a household name in the future.
I loved this book, it caught my attention from the very beginning and not a lot of books do that...the twists and turns during it...didn't even see them coming. Can't wait for the next
